Cette sculpture a été réalisée à partir d'un lot de dalles de grès récupérées après la réhabilitation d'une maison strasbourgeoise. Posée au sol pendant deux ou trois cents ans, une face usée par les passages répétés, palimpseste minéral, chaque passage effaçant les traces précédentes. L'autre face, ancrée dans la terre battue est restée intacte, conservant les traces des gestes de sa mise en œuvre. C'est cette face qui est visible. Posée verticalement contre un mur, elle a été percée de part en part. La poussière de perçage s'accroche sur la surface rugueuse, s'estompant en s'éloignant du perçage. Entre le mur et la dalle, une douille est fixée au mur, son ampoule placée à la hauteur du trou de la dalle. La lumière est trop forte pour que l'on puisse percevoir les contours du perçage.
Réalisée au moment du passage de la comète de Halley.

This sculpture was created from a group of plot of sandstone flagstones I salvaged from the rehabilitation of a house of Strasbourg. It had been put on the floor for about two or three hundred years so that one of its faces was worn by the constant going past throughout years, making it a palimpsest mineral. Each of these movements erased preceding traces. The other face was fixed into trodden earth so that it remained intact and it kept the marks of its building. This face is visible. It is vertically put against a wall and it has been punched straight through. The drilling dust caught at the rough surface and it faded when moving away of drilling. Between the wall and the flagstone, I fixed a lamp socket on the wall and its bulb is placed at the same level as the hole of the flagstone. We can’t see the outlines of the drilling as the light is too strong.
This has been made when comet Halley went through
